Synopsis:

This wonderful CBC TV Movie was filmed in Toronto and Newcastle, New Brunswick in February and March of 1993.  It was then shown later that year at the Atlantic Film Festival were it won critical acclaim.  Although Small Gifts  was supposed to air in Christmas of 93, it was shelved until December 18, 1994, when it was finally shown on CBC.  The movie starred Jessica Steen as Nora Delany and Jeremy Ratchford as her husband Evan. Jessica won a Gemini Award for her performance in the film, and writer David Adams Richards also won a Gemini for best writing.  Richards also won "The Gold World Medal for Writing" at the New York Festivals.  Unfortunately, I don't believe Small Gifts  has ever been aired in the United States.  Small Gifts usually airs around Christmas time in Canada on CBC.  Please, refer to the Articles page for more details on this movie.

Trivia:

Jessica Steen and Jeremy Ratchford have appeared together in other movies such as "Young Again," "The Truth about Alex," "Easy Prey" and "The Day They Came To Arrest The Book."
